LeBron Raymone James Sr., born December 30, 1984, is an American professional basket ball player that plays for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) within the National Basketball Association. James is popularly referred to as King James and is considered to be among the top basketball players to ever play. James has won four NBA Championships, 4 NBA MVP Awards Four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He also holds the distinction of having two Olympic gold medals. James is an NBA All-Star and has more playoff points. the second highest career point total, and seventh-highest ever assist number. James is a member of 18 NBA All-Stars, 18 All-NBA Teams and five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. He's played in ten NBA Finals the third most throughout his career, which includes eight straight times between 2011 and the year 2018. In 2021 James was selected to make the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 became the only basketball player in NBA history to have accumulated 10,000 or more points over the course of his career as well as assists. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media as a potential NBA superstar. James was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the top choice in the NBA draft in 2003. The 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year, he soon established himself as one of the top league players by winning an NBA MVP award in 2010 and 2009. After failing to win an NBA championship, Cleveland James left in 2010 as a free agent to join in the Miami Heat this was announced during the television show The Decision and is among the most controversial free agent decisions throughout sports history.
