The 1976 Montreal Olympic Games was the time when she broke the record as the first athlete to score a perfect 10 in asymmetric bars. Plus, Nadia Comaneci went on to earn six more perfect tens in order to become one of the youngest Olympic Gold medalist. She has not only drawn attention in all directions but has also assisted Romania to find a spot on the international map. By achieving a feat that was unattainable, the sporting icon created a legendary figure and promoted gymnastics across the globe. Additionally, it altered perception of women athletes by the public. The effect she had on Olympics was so great that two of her moves including the toe-on and the release movement have been designated in honor of her. Both are rated as difficult to the highest level. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships and the Olympics. Her performance led to her becoming a legend and she is one of the best gymnasts across the world. In addition, she modeled and promoted sports gear after having moved from the US.
